Wyn Davies

I'm Wyn and I'm a first tenor. I joined Only Men Aloud in 2003 when I came to Cardiff to study for my degree in Pharmacy and I have been here ever since.

Music has always played a big role in my life. I started singing as a young boy and competed in the Urdd, National and Llangollen Eisteddfod from the age of 8. I also play the flugelhorn (not for a while now though!) and have been a member of a brass band for a number of years. Music has allowed me to meet so many new people over the years, and some of my best friends are those I've performed with.

My love of music has always gone hand in hand with my love of sport. I've been a passionate follower of the Ospreys and Man Utd over the years and I have spent many an afternoon shouting at the television or from the terraces. This passion also spills onto the playing field as I have played football and rugby throughout my life and still do to this day. The Only Men Aloud football team is even beginning to develop into quite a force, as we haven't lost a game to date. There are some flair players in the team but I like to think of myself as the enforcer at the back, everything I do may not be pretty but it's often effective.

There is a school of thought that sport and music don't mix, but I happen to think that this is absolute rubbish. An individual should be free to do what ever they want without any boundaries being imposed on them. I have been subject to a few jokes in my time about my singing from teammates, but this seems to disappear when they see Only Men Aloud perform and hear about what we're up to.

I'm really excited about being involved with Only Boys Aloud as I would have loved to have had this opportunity when I was a teenager.
